Life After Pitt

December Graduates Take the Next Step

In December, roughly 20 students graduated from the HAA department. Matt Skundrich, an Architectural Studies major who is now employed with Desmone and Associates and plans to go on to graduate school, reflected on his experience with the department, stating he "wouldn't have changed it for the world." The Art of Folding

AS major Justin Greenawalt describes his work in the fall term design studio course, HAA 1913 with Jozef Petrak and Utkarsh Ghildyal. The course focused on the needs of Pittsburgh's Hazelwood neighborhood. Student work was featured in the Art of Folding exhibit held in the University Art Gallery last month. Advising Announcements

Group advising is in progress for HAA and AS majors. All majors must attend a group advising session in order for their fall registration to be processed through the department. View more advising announcements

Design Charrette

The 2008 AIAS Charrette is an explorative investigation and application of associative design principles to produce a student housing complex in the context of a large univeristy. It will be held March 1, 2008 in Frick Fine Arts. More details

New AS Courses

This summer, Architectural Studies will offer two new courses:

  1. HAA 1913: Architectural Studies Seminar - Historic Preservation Documentation and Conservation
  2. HAA 1910: Special Topics Architecture - Window Restoration
